The Memory of Water selected as one of 7 international finalists for the C21 Digital Drama Pitch 24.
Mondo Studio Film’s original 6-part mystery drama TV Series, The Memory of Water has been selected as one of seven finalists for the C21 Digital Drama Pitch 2024, along with projects spanning Australia, Georgia, Lebanon, Iceland, Serbia and Bulgaria.
The C21 Digital Drama Pitch 2024 was born out of the high standard of entries received for the Content London Drama Series Pitch 2023. From more than 150 submissions from 37 countries, 10 projects were selected to pitch live at Content London 2023. A further seven projects were then chosen to create the Digital Drama Pitch 2024.
Created by Ruth Borgobello, writer/director of THE SPACE BETWEEN, Australia's official 2018 Oscar entry for Best Foreign Film, and Craig Irvin, writer and director of BAFTA and Emmy award winning TV Series, NOWHERE BOYS and Netflix TV Series THE NEW LEGENDS OF MONKEY, The Memory of Water is a shot to the heart from a not-so-distant future. Set in a fictional town, the series takes us 20 years into the future, a world in the throes of environmental disaster, where water, our most precious resource, is increasingly scarce.
Producer, Davide Giusto says “The Memory of Water explores the rising tensions between generations as youth face the reality of the damaged world they are inheriting. Provocative and entertaining, it asks big questions of the future by looking back at the past”.
The series has received early development support from VicScreen in Australia and is envisaged to be shot across Europe and Australia, tapping Mondo Studio Film’s passion for telling impact driven stories that cross both cultural and geographic boundaries.
